Lumut Lumut here i come!!!

In two hours time, my ass will be doing a lil road trip to lumut, for family vacation. =)
I have miraculously done four assignments per se in a day in order to go for this trip.

Nonetheless, its not like it's an option for me NOT to go. Her Motherness will, with all due respect, skewer me with hot tobasco sauce if I so much as mentioned that I could not go due to my "overwhelming truck loads of assignments "(Which i dearly paid for when i procrastinated all those weeks back XD)

Thank you Kwok Lun for graciously helping me out with... *cough*assignments*cough*=)!

Anyway, those who wish to reach me can do so through my mobile number, of course. For the record, i'll be going for hot springs and sandy beaches, so yes, envy me people. XD I'll update you guys when i get back on the 19th!

Grats to Jeremy Ooi! Cicak getting married =) And Ivy the Clown as well (engaged).

in the meantime, Au Revoir =)

For traitors on the block should die;
I am no traitor, no, not I!
My faithfulness stands fast and so,
Towards the block I shall not go!
Nor make one step, as you shall see;
Christ in Thy Mercy, save Thou me!
-Margaret Pole (née Plantagenet), 8th Countess of Salisbury (14 August 1473 – 27 May 1541) before her execution

Escape.

All the best stories in the world are but one story in reality - the story of escape. It is the only thing which interests us all and at all times, how to escape.
Walter Bagehot

Closure.

How do you obtain that, when you're beyond repairable damage, when what you feel is more like an empty casket brimming with decomposing memories of no sustenance.
Yet the stench so strong it wears on your clothes years and years after it's over.

If we could highlight the files containing old memories subjected to a state of redundancy... except to cause you the occasional heartache and a sense of sickening nostalgia that you do not want, nor need.
and you could suppress it all, crunch it up like the trash it is.
And toss it all away.

Would it be worthy to lose a part of your identity for it?

To have stepped in front of you, and realize I never known you at all, rather to go through repetitive state of torment?

I'd dare say it would.

Once again, ignorance is indeed the biggest bliss of all.

2012

This movie had a lil tête a tête with Beverly hills, did some major ass-whacking plastic surgery, went for a spa bath in Hollywood, gulp down a sea full of Titanic-U-Jump-I-Jump and a large dose of opium...

And the last continent standing had to be Africa!
Now don't get me wrong, i've got nothing against african-americans, and mocha people in general
Heck i love Africans, from their culture right down to their Darlie-ad smiles.
But.. COME ON! Understandably Obama is the US President. Still, it's at its borderline.... until it pulls it up a notch, and goes over the top with the geologist/archaeologist!

Gord, What a suck up.

Unfortunately the only thing (barely) holding this movie up, would be it's mind-blowing, on the edge, special Fex.

Fortunately, the cinematography, along with it's fancy special fex makes for a very good cover-up to it's... ineffable, generic of clichés, plot.

This is a bad bad movie, with really good actors and superb effects.

So go watch it, but try not to expect too much.
And you'll feel exhilarated.

Which can also be from that opium earlier on...

Lovely.

I've not seen The Hannah Montana Movie, so i've no idea whether it's a good movie or not.
But this song rocks. =)

enjoy.

Crazier-Taylor Swift

I've never gone with the wind
Just let it flow
Let it take me where it wants to go
Til' you opened the door
And there's so much more
I'd never seen it before
I was tryin' to fly but I couldn't find wings
But you came along and changed everything

You lift my feet off the ground
You spin me around
You make me crazier crazier
Feels like I'm falling and I
I'm lost in your eyes
You make me Crazier Crazier Crazier

I watched from a distance as you
Made life your own
Every sky was your own kind of blue
And I wanted to know how that would feel
And you made it so real
You showed me something that I couldn't see
You opened my eyes and you made me believe

You lift my my feet off the ground
You spin me around
You make me crazier crazier
Feels like I'm falling and I
I'm lost in your eyes
You make me crazier crazier crazier

Ohhhh

Baby you showed me what livin' is for
I don't wanna hide anymore
Oh Ohh

You lift my feet off the ground
You take me away
You make me crazier crazier
Feels like I'm falling and I
I'm lost in your eyes
You make me crazier crazier crazier

Shit.

I wish my life is a joke,
then I could get to the real thing.

Crossing over that bridge.

In life, we're frequently forced to make hard decisions...
and when indecisiveness occurred, we'd turned to our lover, spouse, relatives and direct families....

As usual,we'd turn to the one that understands us most, the one that's going through the same issues, ones that are having similar heartaches . The one that we could talk about everything to..

More often then not, we'd turn to our best friends.

Yes, given that parents have been through it all. Being experienced, parents are able to dish out wise quotations, and life lessons learnt the hard way. Perhaps living by this rule ,they in fact have moved on from this phase in life. And by moving on, they would have already forgotten what it's like, how hard it has been for them when they were in their young, tender years.

We laugh now, nostalgic bout our times as a gullible little kid... being punished and all.
Comparing cane marks, and brutal scars. But let's face it, what we don't recall are the pains of growing up from that stage.
The abuse of our freshman parents, not knowing how to handle a child's psych and raw emotions, lashing out at us with a wrath that's absolutely unacceptable for a small crime committed.

We've all been there as a kid.

But we're no longer the same child, and that being said, cannot connect with another kid. Not the way a kid could. Not with play-acting and imaginations.

We've move passed that.

And times have changed, we're no longer brought up the way our parents were. The same solution cannot apply to a different, albeit similar problem. The answer is obsolete. History doesn't repeats itself in the same pattern. We would always have to change to fit in with society. And it's harder to understand when you have a whole decade of differences to figure out...

Hence it's peers we turn to at our times of need.

But what if a major decision in life involves the very peers we turn to... our best friend, our la confidante?

What if our closest buddy don't see eye to eye with us any more.
An intervention.
Suddenly, you're not as close as you used to be..
and everything feels like it's falling apart.

What if the shortcomings we used to compromise with, turned and backfired...
What if suddenly, your friend could not stand the you stir your tea, and tap the edges with your spoon.
Or if you gets annoyed whenever your friend drops over anytime without asking for permission first.
What if every little thing they did gets on each other's nerves...
What if friendship expired each other without the people involve even realizing it?
Unresolved issue starts to arise. And both unable to make out what's eating them inside out.
The ultimate question is played over and over again, like a broken record.

What's different then before...?

What once was a beautiful friendship between two people aren't working any longer.
No longer walking the same paths.
Mindsets begin to gravitate to those similar to their own..
and opinions begin differ...
And after endless arguments, months and months of awkward silences, both unwilling to yield, and ready to snap.

One at her wits ends trying to change to fit in..
while the other not seeing it, insisting on a change.

And when one can no longer accept a behaviour or habit, they stop compromising for it.
They outgrew a person...
They stop calling
Stop keeping in touch.
And when they do that, suddenly it hits them.

Life had simply just move on.

That all those bitter quarrels were just stepping stones to be crossed.
That there was no point in arguing because neither was right nor wrong.
They were simply just...

Different.

The change was painful.
It was heartbreaking.
The realization brought tears streaming down my face...
I never thought they day would come where I'd had to cross this bridge.

Some things can never be worked out.
Because there was nothing to work out in the first place.
Sometimes in life, when compromising doesn't do the job, we're left only with one choice.

Submission.

To the fact that we no longer "click" the way we use to.
To the fact that we can't change everybody to suit our lifestyle and needs.
That our wants and desires had evolved.
The fact that we need different things from a friendship.
And finally, that our characters have just outlived each other.

Dear Friend,
I know perhaps thing have not been all warm and shibby shibby between us. But i will and always remain, a friend that you can fall back on when the world's a bitter place.

That's is all. I wish you the best life can offer, wherever you are going next.

Sandy

/Where did i go wrong,
I lost a friend,
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And i would have stayed up with you all night
Had i known, how to save a life.'

Fireworks on 31st August 09.

Photography in Genting's First World rooftop, for Merdeka's Day. =) Enjoy.

ps- i'm using my kit lens so it's not that good. but hey, it works!

Finallly.

Finally got over it.
The pain, the anger, the arduous weeks of torment.
The finale of consequential results.
The crazy arguements and insults.

Knowledge is truly the key to success.
And that applies to this.
Finally settling back to my rationale self.
Finally undeluded.
Finally concious.
Finally seen the light.

Waking up from a nightmare.
Finally.

Some people think that it's holding on that makes one strong. In reality, it's letting go. -MetroDad-

Time

Time is a very objective matter.
To say that one has no time , in my opinion is total BullSht.
It's a matter of how badly you want something.
It's a matter of how much a part of yourself you're willing to give for something to thrive.
It's about having enough love, passion, dedication and sacrifice.

Then again sometimes the matter is pretty subjective.
Like no matter how much time you've wasted to change a person's character it won't change, unless that person wants and welcomes the change.
Or how much time you spend wasting on someone who won't love you back.
Or sometimes, how much time you spend trying to find a miracle cure to all of life's unfairness and misery,
Or even wishing for a love one to come back to life.

You only have time if you're alive and living on earth right?

hence,

Time= Amount of LIFE TIME
No Time= No lifetime

So you're pretty much dead then.

If one's so obsessed about making use of all the time one has on earth, one will probably accumulate enough stress to have die young. Might as well smoke ten packets of ciggarettes a day me thinks.

So stop waiting to come alive. Start now.

Quit The One Academy.

Foever and Always - Taylor Swift.

Once upon a time, I believe it was a Tuesday when I caught your eye
And we caught onto something
I hold onto the night, you looked me in the eye and told me you loved me

Were you just kidding?
'cause it seems to me, this thing is breaking down
We almost never speak
I don't feel welcome anymore
Baby what happened, please tell me?

'cause one second it was perfect, now you're halfway out the door

And I stare at the phone, he still hasn't called
And then you feel so low you cant feel nothing at all
And you flashback to when he said forever and always
Oh, and it rains in your bedroom
Everything is wrong
It rains when you're here and it rains when you're gone
Cause I was there when you said forever and always

Was I out of line?
Did I say something way too honest, made you run and hide
Like a scared little boy
I looked into your eyes
Thought I knew you for a minute, now I'm not so sure

So here's everything coming down to nothing
Here's to silence that cuts me to the core
Where is this going? Thought I knew for a minute, but I don't anymore

And I stare at the phone, he still hasn't called
And then you feel so low you cant feel nothing at all
And you flashback to when he said forever and always
Oh, and it rains in your bedroom
Everything is wrong
It rains when you're here and it rains when you're gone
'cause I was there when you said forever and always
You didn't mean it baby, I don't think so

Back up, baby, back up
Did you forget everything
Back up, baby, back up
Did you forget everything

'cause it rains in your bedroom
Everything is wrong
It rains when you're here and it rains when you're gone
'cause I was there when you said forever and always

Oh, I stare at the phone, he still hasn't called
And then you feel so low you cant feel nothing at all
And you flashback to when we said forever and always

And it rains in your bedroom
Everything is wrong
It rains when you're here and it rains when you're gone
'cause I was there when you said forever and always
You didn't mean it baby, you said forever and always I don't think so yeah

Kids say the darnest things...

ROFL.

One time my other cousin (who was about 4 at that time) really did not like her mom's err... big-boned coworker. The woman asked her for a hug and she said, "You know, if I hug you, I'm scared I'm going to bounce back farrrrrr farrrrr away!" -laura driver

When my son was about 3, I painted his tiny toes with metallic blue polish (because he'd asked - not my idea). When I was done, he signed dramatically, looked at his feet and said happily, "Now I'm a REAL boy.
-whit

As I was drying my 5-year-old son after his bath, my 3-year-old daughter pointed at his chest and asked "What are those?", referring to his nipples. I said "Those are nipples, sweetie, everyone has them." My son then informed my daughter that hers will get bigger, and when she's a grown-up she will be able to "milk a baby."-Kathy S.

My children's school had a mock election. My little Kindergartner was asked to tell the class who he was voting for and why.

He said "I'm voting for Ahrocka Nabama because my Mom says the white guy is old and he tells lies"-KellyGreenT.

i Have no idea why, but this cracks me up...

We were kids (she was around 8) attending Catholic mass and got to the portion of the mass where the congregation is supposed to respond "Lord I am not worthy to receive you but only say the word and I shall be healed." This is right before communion. My sister had her head bowed, hands folded and intoned solemnly, "Lord I am not worthy to receive you but only say the word and I shall eat you."-Susan.C

and finally...

My daughter, age 3, from the back seat as we drove by something strange:

"What the hell??!"

Me: "Honey, um, you really shouldn't say hell."

3yo daughter: "Oh, I didn't say hell. I said health, god damnit."- Kate

ROFL!

As rare as it is....

I'm pretty much a self-absorbed lil fry who's stuck in her own artsy fartsy fantasy land.

An Abandoned Mansion.

Abandoned Mansion. (2006/7)

A draught howls through the cracks of the broken windows. Its hinges cried out in pain, on the verge of breaking loose. The crumbly walls moaned and grumbled bitterly as the morning train rumbled pass, shrieking like a hyena. Pieces of ceiling crashed onto the ground, breaking into tiny bits. Mice feeding nearby scampered quickly, frighten out of their lives.

An abandoned playpen covered with flakes of dust, had turned into a nest for a bitch’s litter. The puppies whimpered in fear of the strange sounds. Termites ran all over the wooden furniture, chewing away at an old armchair with delight. An empty box of cigarettes lies on the floor suggestively; tiny specks of ashes hidden away like a secret. A clockwork clown with its head broken off still smiled away with irony.

Dawn slipped away, leaving no trace of its existence. A parched puppy finds its way to a broken pipe. The scorching sun burns down mercilessly on the yard of overflowing weeds. Its glare pierced through every crack and cranny. Critters and vermin alike hid beneath the manors shadow; slept soundly, shield from its cruel rays. Bells shrilling loudly as chattering primary kids tumbled out of the gates in a flood. Haunted; whispered naughty children, nudging each other as they skipped pass in a devil may care manner.

Suddenly, the sky cracked its whip and droplets pattered down on the roof shingles hesitantly, as if fearing that it would break. There was another thunderous roar and the rain pours down with gusto. Surrounding weeds drinks up the moisture like thirsty drunkards. Water dripped from the leaky roof. Bits and pieces of broken toys floated by, bobbing around cheerily. The bitch scampered onto higher grounds, gently cradling its youngest in its jaws, as the rest scampered and stumbled along trying not to get soaked by the incoming flood.

Finally the rain stopped. Sharp rays peeked through from the horizon, draping a soft sheen on the wet tiles. A nearby mosque began to chant its prayers in a singsong fashion, a longing in its hollow hymn, as the sun sinks until it completely disappears. Crickets join along by playing their own melody, caroling away into the starless night. The birds retreat into a warm nest they had made in a hole at the ceiling. A small breeze whispered sweet nothings as the menacing house and its furry comrades slipped into a carefree slumber.

-End-

A short descriptive essay dedicated to my nostalgic childhood memory of an old old house in Ipoh that once held eleven kids and two dogs..

I could still hear the sound of that mosque going at five to six... and the train rumbling past at dawn.

And the constant chill of that grey marble floor...

Poem. =3

I wrote this when i was in form two i think.
Found it in one of my homemade "school diary".

Well here goes nothing.

Tear off the clouds, and you'll see the sun
Tear off your worries and the day begin.
Mend and heal the wound inside,
Laugh and wave your worries aside,

Perhaps the world will deem brighter
And the sun will shine today.
The rain and tears a dust of the past
The sorrow fades away.

Slowly, a path will open
And hope will rise within
Slowly the stab will turn into a sting
And dissolve into a dull ache.

The aching heart will start to mend.
And soon, none but a scar.
To remind you of a battle of rage.
The bloodied wear of war.

Mother's Day..... is for My Mother. =D

-Fun Facts-
Mother's Day has not been around since forever! It's been invented by Anna Jarvis on MAY 12Th 1914 for her belated mom in the United States and was made known and official around the world since then. Hence, it's is a pretty 'young' day as it was 'born' in the 20Th century.

What "Mother" Means

"Mother" is such a simple word,
But to me there’s meaning seldom heard.
For everything I am today,
My mother’s love showed me the way.

I’ll love my mother all my days,
For enriching my life in so many ways.
She set me straight and then set me free,
And that’s what the word "mother" means to me.

Thanks for being a wonderful mother, Mom!

By Karl Fuchs

Personally i have no likings for miley cyrus (except for the hannah montana shows which are granted, pretty hilarious.) But here's a song that sings out what Mom means to me =)

I Learn From You - Miley and Billy Ray.
-chorus-
'I learned from you that I do not crumble
I learned that strength is something you choose
All of the reasons to keep on believin',
There's no question, that's a lesson
I learned from you '

If there's anything i learn from my mother, i learn to have an open heart.
I learn generosity.
I learn forgiveness.
And most of all, i learn that material goods can never bring happiness like the people you love

It's true that my mom's not much of a cook.
But she's one hell of an organizer and a hostess.
It's true that my mom can't make handicrafts, or doesn't read us bedtime stories.
But she can make a whole crowd roar in laughter, with her off-keyed quips and toothy grins.
My mom is strong-willed woman and a loud one, literally and figuratively.
She follows fashion trends, plays Facebook , and leave messages on my ex's wall.
She complains her daughters are outdated!
And she follows canto dramas,
falls asleep watching canto dramas
and rewatch it the next day after work
and falls asleep again.

She makes all her juniors at work squirm in fear,
and yet she fail to make us listen.
She's inquisitive, and willing. Laughs at her mistakes.
Hot tempered and impatient.
My mother learns English to teach us.
Scolds us when she's wrong
Scolds us when we tell her she's wrong
Scolds us when she's right.
Scolds us when we are slow at getting it right.

A tigress.

Mom...

There's nothing i could say to describe to you how much i love you.

You rock! =)

And i wouldn't want a better mother.
Cause you're the best mom out there.

teehee! =)

Movies Galore.

I've been watching a lot of movies due to the fact that i was dragged, cajoled , asked and invited by friends around me. Also due to the fact that i have too much free time at hand.

Slumdog Millionaire(4.5out of 5 stars.)
It's the new era's Shakespeare sonnet, played into a movie, that speaks of love and tragedy.
Although there are some parts where the characters appears to not fit in(how could someone who does not learn English suddenly knows how to do so, ,perfected with an accent?) the whole movie was all in all a new breathe of fresh air. I like how the movie started out, though it could've ended on a more convincing note(The ending was too corny.). It's also an eye-opener to the lives of people living in slum areas of India, and brushes lightly on how religion, power and greed turns humanity into animals.

The Reader(3.5 out of 5 stars)
This is something rather different from your usual cup of romance. I'm not sure whether it's played in cinema's due to it's "obscene" amount of sex scenes which lasted few second of in-betweens (or more). The starting of the movie is actually rather confusing, but story unravels as the plot thickens. All in all i thought this is a good movie if one loves the mystery of figuring out what is it about. If you love Benjamin Button, i've no doubt that you would scoop and swallow this movie like you would a sundae on a hot day. The only problem is having the patience to sit down and watch it. And the other problem is having knowing enough to figure what the hell they are talking about.

Curious Case of Benjamin Button( 3.5 out of 5 stars)
What makes this movie so wonderful, is the fact that it's so believable. Cate blanchett and Brad Pitt's acting blows life into the characters, which was of course, made more believable with special effects.
It's whimsical, heart-jarring and depressing.
It's the kind of movie which picks on your nostalgia.
Then again, it's the kind of movie where you wouldn't want to watch again.
It's a reallyyyy slooowwwwwww movie.

Make It Happen(2 out of 5 stars)
Unfotunately this movie falls short of creativity, emotions and substance. The plot is predictable and the dance routine is not exactly mind-blowing. It's too much like a combination of Step-Up and Coyote Ugly . The idea of small town girl making it big in city is too overrated till it's a bore.
rated two stars for effort.

Talentime(4 out of 5 stars)
This movie is a great movie for locals by local (Yasmin Ahmad). Unfortunately the ending falls short off course and it's very "the-potong-steamlah". It manages to depict malaysians in an artistic way and like Slumdog Millionaire, touches lightly on racial issues and the difference between values and fortunes. It's a mixture of melancholy and humour.Certain scenes will hit home. Highly recommended. This is the kind of movie that you'll want to watch again. However, some of the acting are dramatic to the point of embarassment. A good plot with a great twist.

Son of Rambow.(4 out of 5 stars)
A sweet comedy. It's jsut great =) highly recommended. A rascal who's a bully and an innocent, religious young boy against the whole world. great plot and sweet ending.

Mall Cop.(2 out of 5)
Funny. lame. lame. funny. not hilarious unfortunately. It's a bit sad really. I liked the lead actor from "Big Jim" alot. dissapointing.

Yes Man(4 out of 5 stars)
Jim Carrey is the best! THis is a great movie for a good laugh.

Highly recommended-
-Son of Rambow
-Talentime
-Slumdog Millionaire

that's about it. there's more, but i'm lazy =)
